DCH Group's Dneprovsky Metallurgical Plant doubles output of rolled products in 2023

MOSCOW. Jan 25 (Interfax) - PJSC Dneprovsky Metallurgical Plant (DMP), part of Ukrainian entrepreneur Alexander Yaroslavsky's DCH Group, ramped up production of rolled products 86.2% year-on-year to 105,600 tonnes and output of metallurgical coke 38.5% year-on -year to 292,700 tonnes in 2023, Ukrainian media reported, citing information in the DCH Steel corporate publication.

DCH Steel said that DMP cut output of rolled products 35% month-on-month and 27% year-on-year to 5,200 tonnes in December 2023. DMP trimmed production of metallurgical coke 6% month-on-month, though doubled output year-on-year, to 23,900 tonnes in December 2023.

"DMP's rolling shops last year focused on manufacturing mining stands, ore rails, and small volumes of channels and angles for the Ukrainian market. The company also resumed manufacturing profiles according to European standards," DCH Steel said.

As noted, DMP previously supplied bituminous coal coke, nut coke, and coke breeze primarily to ferroalloy plants in Ukraine.

"The situation changed last year. Coke and by-product output in the spring resumed production of metallurgical coke and significantly increased supplies to Ukrainian metallurgical plants within the year. Metallurgical coke is currently the main product in the order portfolios of coke producers," DCH Steel said.

DMP specializes in manufacturing semi-finished products and shaped-rolled products.

DMP unites the former Petrovsky Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Plant and Dneprokoks. The company slashed output of rolled products 74.2% year-on-year to 58,400 tonnes and coke 56.3% year-on-year to 211,300 tonnes in 2022.
