State Duma speaker invites observers from 78 foreign parliaments to Russian presidential election
MOSCOW. Jan 25 (Interfax) - State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has invited observers from 78 foreign parliaments to the Russian presidential election.
"A total of 123 invitations have been sent to international parliamentary organizations and national parliaments of 78 countries," the State Duma's press service said on Thursday.
According to the Russian law on presidential elections, foreign observers can be invited by the incumbent head of state, the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Russian government, and the Central Elections Commission after the official publication of the resolution setting the election date.
The Russian presidential election will take place on March 15-17.
