Kazakhstan urges Syrian settlement process guarantors to resume Constitutional Committee meetings

ASTANA. Jan 25 (Interfax) - The conflict in Syria should be settled in the political format, so the guarantor states should resume meetings of the Constitutional Committee, Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev said.

"It is necessary to promote a political settlement of the conflict and to focus on the political process. Thus, it would be expedient to resume meetings of the Constitutional Committee to discuss the country's future. That would be an important instrument to achieve political accord," Bakayev said at a plenary meeting of the 21st round of Syrian talks in Astana.
