Germany's AMK Global GmbH to invest 140 mln euros to build waste processing plant in Taraz

ASTANA. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Germany's AMK Global GmbH plans to build a waste processing plant in Taraz, Kazakhstan, by investing 140 million euros in its construction, the press service of the local administration of the Zhambyl Region said in a statement.

The plant's capacity is expected to be 500 tonnes per day. The enterprise will also have an automatic waste sorting line.

"A gradual increase in capacity will render it possible to organize transportation and waste processing at the landfill," the local administration said.

It is also planned to produce the by-products of oxygen, nitrogen, compost, carbon fiber, and clean aviation fuel.

"A waste recycling plant is a very important facility. We strongly support projects aimed at preserving the environment. It is currently important to move from discussion to specific actions. Municipal authorities and relevant departments, in close cooperation with the company, will study the project and provide full support," the regional mayor, Erbol Karashukeyev, said in a statement.
