Centravis joins project of manufacturing automobile with hydrogen engine for EU

MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Centravis Production Ukraine incorporated in Centravis Ltd. has joined a project for manufacturing automobiles with a hydrogen engine in the European Union together with the French company Duncha France, Ukrainian media quoted the company as saying in a press release on Wednesday.

Centravis has developed a range of H2FIT high-precision seamless stainless steel pipes to carry out the hydrogen project. These pipes will be installed on light trucks to meet EU regulations under the Zero Carbon Initiative, it said.

Such pipes will be used to manufacture four small trucks based on fuel cell technology. Centravis will supply pipes for the entire system circuit, including high-pressure 700 bar sections and normal pressure sections of up to 300 bar for the automobile's hydrogen supply system.

Centravis was founded in 2000 and is among the top-10 world producers of seamless stainless tubes and pipes. It employs over 1,400 people, and its principal manufacturing facilities are based in Nikopol in the Dnepropetrovsk region.

The Centravis Ltd. holding company was set up on the basis of the Nikopol Plant of Stainless Steel Tubes and the UVIS commercial and manufacturing enterprise. Its shareholders are members of the Atanasov family. Centravis Ltd. wholly owns Centravis Production Ukraine.
