Turkmenistan, Japan discuss cooperation in digitalization, cybersecurity

ASHGABAT. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Japan's Digital Agency Minister Taro Kono discussed cooperation in digitalization, cybersecurity, transport and logistics at their meeting, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.

"Cooperation in digital infrastructure, digitalization, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, the Internet, personnel training and updating the regulatory framework was discussed at the meeting," the ministry said.

Meredov and Kono also outlined new avenues for cooperation in digital technologies and innovations, it said.

During their visit to Japan, the Turkmen delegation members also held meetings in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and with NTT Group and NEC Corporation to discuss prospects for cooperation in transport, logistics and communications, it said.
