Ukrainian businessman Mazepa released from remand center after posting bail

MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Concorde Capital investment company founder and CEO Igor Mazepa has been released from a pre-trial detention facility after posting bail, Ukrainian media said.

"Businessman and Concorde Capital investment company owner Igor Mazepa has been released from pre-trial detention on bail," Ukrainian media said, citing the company's press service.

As reported, an appellate court ruled to keep Mazepa in custody until February 27 with the option of bail, but reduced his bail to 21 million hryvni, media said.

The Pechersky District Court of Kiev on January 19 remanded Mazepa in custody on suspicion of illegally seizing the land on which the Kiev Hydroelectric Power Plant's facilities are located and set his bail at 350 million hryvni.

The businessman's arrest has caused tensions in relations between Ukrainian business people and authorities.
