Rostislav Futalo heads up Ukreximbank Supervisory Board

MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax) - KBC Group banker and independent member of state-owned Ukreximbank's Supervisory Board Rostislav Futalo has been appointed to head the bank's Supervisory Board.

Futalo was elected to chair the Kiev-based bank's Supervisory Board on January 22, Ukrainian media said on Tuesday, citing data in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission.

Futalo has been working for Belgian KBC Bank Group and the CSOB merchant bank, which operates in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, since 2020 under a long-term consulting contract, specializing in digitalization. Futalo has also been a Respeecher.com consultant on partnerships and liaison between U.S. and Ukrainian investors in the European Commission since 2019.

The banker worked for the Executive Agency for Small and Medium Businesses from 2017 to 2022, was a Horizon 2020 program expert, and the Intecracy Group board's member in charge of international business from 2017 to 2020.

Futalo has been a member of the financial committee of St. Barbara's Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (Austria) since 2014.

As reported, the revamped Supervisory Board of Ukreximbank held its first meeting on January 15 following a lengthy period of transformation.

According to National Bank of Ukraine data, Ukreximbank ranked 3rd by total assets (255.01 billion hryvni) among 63 banks operating in the country as of November 1, 2023.
