Russian, Swiss FMs meeting ends after more than 1 hour

NEW YORK, UN/MOSCOW. Jan 23 (Interfax) - The meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis has finished.

The meeting was held in the one-on-one format and took slightly longer than one hour, an Interfax correspondent said on Tuesday.

"The Russian side expressed its principled opinion on the continuous steady drift by the Confederation in a direction away from the principles of neutrality and toward blind support for the Kiev regime by Berne," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website. "It was emphasized that such actions coupled with an unfriendly Russia policy are taken into account when drawing the Russian line on the Swiss track," it said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also informs in its statement that Lavrov and Cassis discussed a number of practical subjects in respect of Switzerland's UN Security Council membership in 2023-2024.
