Lavrov, Turkish FM discuss ongoing Russian-Turkish energy projects

MOSCOW. Jan 23 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan discussed joint projects in the energy sector and the schedule of upcoming bilateral contacts, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"Major issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation were discussed in detail. [...] The parties also touched upon the implementation of key Russian-Turkish projects in the energy sector. The schedule of upcoming bilateral contacts was discussed as well," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.

Lavrov and Fidan also exchanged views on a number of international issues.

"The parties reaffirmed the relevance of our countries' coordinated steps in the interests of finding mutually acceptable solutions to acute regional problems, above all the situation in the Gaza Strip, the Middle East as a whole, the Black Sea area, and the South Caucasus," it said.
