Ukraine's financial system stable - Zelensky
MOSCOW. Jan 19 (Interfax) - The situation in Ukraine's financial system is stable, and social benefits are being provided without resorting to money emission, Ukrainian media cited President Vladimir Zelensky as saying.
"I held a meeting with Prime Minister Denis Shmygal today. First of all, we discussed the energy sector, the protection and capabilities of our energy system. Consumption is high now, but the professional work of our energy sector specialists and all those responsible for protecting energy facilities makes it possible to provide the country with electricity and heat," Zelensky said.
"The prime minister also briefed me today on the situation in our financial system. The situation is stable. Social payments are being made in full, without resorting to emission," he said.
"We had economic growth of 5% last year and an increase in tax payments that corresponds to the growth in the economy. This is a clear sign of Ukraine's strength," Zelensky said.
