Rosselkhoznadzor preparing to register three pork suppliers for shipments to China

MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Rosselkhoznadzor is preparing three Russian companies to be included in China's registration system for the supply of pork to the Chinese market, the agency's press service told Interfax.

These enterprises were inspected by Chinese specialists in December 2023.

"In the near future we will send a report to China on the implementation of the recommendations given by our Chinese colleagues during the visit," the press service said.

Rosselkhoznadzor expects shipments to China of Russian pork products to begin in the next two months.

As reported, on December 19, 2023, a protocol on inspection, quarantine and veterinary and sanitary requirements for pork from Russia was signed in Beijing, and a veterinary certificate was approved at the end of December. This gives Russia the right to export pork to the Chinese market.

As reported, the first shipments are being prepared for shipment by Miratorg.

The National Union of Pig Producers expects that Russian pork could account for up to 10% of China's imports from Russia in the next few years.
