USAID AGRO, Organic Standard to help Ukrainian organic grain, oilseed crop exports reach new markets

MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Organic Standard certification company, backed by USAID's Agriculture Growing Rural Opportunities (AGRO) program, will help Ukrainian organic producers broaden the geography of their grain and oilseed crop exports.

"As part of the joint project, our company will offer a variety of services, including the certification of micro, small and medium enterprises, export shipment control, laboratory tests and the issuance of export certificates. The USAID AGRO program will compensate up to 90% of these services' cost for agricultural producers," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Organic Standard as saying on social media.

The joint efforts are expected to help earn more than $35 million by exporting at least 75,000 tonnes of Ukrainian organic products to foreign markets.
