Ukraine keen to have more contacts with China at all levels - FM Kuleba

MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - The crisis in Ukraine does not meet China's strategic interests, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said, adding that Kiev is willing to have more contracts with Beijing at all levels.

"I don't believe that this crisis is in China's strategic interests. We believe that China is currently monitoring developments and watching as different parties pour more and more resources into it. China is focused not only on its economic problems, but also on developments in our region. We want to talk to China more. We want to have more contacts with them at all levels," Ukrainian media quoted Kuleba as saying at discussions as part of the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday.

In its approach to China, Ukraine is guided by Beijing's interest in seeing an independent, peaceful and prosperous Ukraine, he said.
