Ukraine's foreign trade deficit up 2.8-fold in Jan-November 2023 - State Statistics Service

MOSCOW. Jan 17 (Interfax) - Ukraine's foreign trade deficit increased 2.8-fold to $24.351 billion in January-November 2023 from $8.570 billion in the same period of 2022, Ukrainian media said, citing data from the State Statistics Service.

Exports of goods from Ukraine dropped 18.9% to $32.978 billion in January-November 2023 year-on-year, while imports rose 16.5% to $57.329 billion, the service said.

The seasonally adjusted volume of exports increased 3.1% to $2.583 billion in November 2023 month-on-month, while imports fell 9.5% to $4.749 billion month-on-month.

Like in October 2023, Ukraine posted a seasonally adjusted foreign trade deficit of $2.166 billion in November versus $2.741 billion previously.

The export-import coverage ratio was 0.58 in January-November 2023 (0.83 in January-November 2022).

Foreign trade operations were conducted with partners from 228 countries, the State Statistics Service said.
