Krivoi Rog Iron Ore Plant cuts ore output 24.4% in 2023
MOSCOW. Jan 17 (Interfax) - Krivoi Rog Iron Ore Plant, Ukraine's largest underground iron ore mining enterprise, cut production of commercial iron ore 24.4% year-on-year to 2.183 million tonnes in 2023, Ukrainian media reported, citing the company's data.
The enterprise said that overall production at the plant totaled 145,000 tonnes of iron ore in December.
The Pokrovskaya, Kazatskaya, and Ternovskaya mines, respectively, each produced 40,000 tonnes, and the Krivorozhskaya mine had output of 25,000 tonnes.
As reported, Krivoi Rog Iron Ore Plant cut the production of commercial iron ore from underground mining 32.8% year-on-year to 2.888 million tonnes in 2022.
Krivoi Rog Iron Ore Plant specializes in underground mining of iron ore from the Krivoi Rog iron ore basin. The plant's structure includes four mines, a mine construction department, a service department to repair and install equipment, a railway transport department, a motor transport depot, a repair and construction and power department, and a logistics department.
