Four more countries connect to Russian Central Bank's Financial Messaging System

MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - The number of countries participating in the CBR Financial Messaging System (SPFS) has increased to 20 from 16 in Q3 2023, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank, Vladimir Chistyukhin said on Finance Day at the Russia exhibition.

In total, 557 banks and companies are now connected to the SPFS, including 159 non-residents.

The Central Bank said that, at the end of September 2023, SPFS consisted of 550 organizations, about 150 of whom were non-residents from 16 countries.

The Financial Messaging System is similar to SWIFT, and ensures uninterrupted transmission of financial messages both within Russia and abroad.
