Georgia's trade deficit widens 17% to $9.348 bln in 2023
TBILISI. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Georgia's trade deficit widened 17.4% to $9.348 billion in 2923 from $7.964 billion in 2022, Geostat, the national statistics service, said.
The deficit widened as imports grew 14% to $15.439 billion and exports rose 9.1% to $6.091 billion.
Foreign trade grew 12.5% to $21.529 billion.
The deficit accounted for 43.4% of trade, up from 41.6% in 2022.
The deficit widened 36% in 2022 as foreign trade rose 33.4% to $19.13 billion.
