Switzerland to allocate CHF1.5 bln for Ukraine's recovery in 2025-2028

MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Switzerland plans to allocate 1.5 billion Swiss francs for Ukraine's recovery efforts between 2025 and 2028 as part of the international cooperation strategy, Swiss President Viola Amherd said.

"Switzerland is placing a special focus on recovery [...] To support Ukraine, Switzerland has planned 1.5 billion francs under the international cooperation strategy from 2025 to 2028," Ukrainian media quoted Amherd as saying at a press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on Monday.

Zelensky, for his part, said, when asked which Ukrainian facilities the Swiss aid will help restore, that Ukraine needs to bolster its energy system.

"The energy system should be decentralized, and it should be safe. The same concerns the water supply system," Zelensky said.
