Russia's Dodo pizzeria chain re-domiciles to Kazakhstan
ASTANA. Jan 15 (Interfax) - The board of directors of Dodo Brands, the Russian pizzeria chain, has approved the company's re-domiciliation to Kazakhstan, the company's financial director, Lina Naumova, said.
"We are pleased to inform you that on December 15, 2023, the board of directors approved the re-domiciliation of the holding company from the British Virgin Islands to the Astana International Financial Center. To finalize this decision, an absentee voting for shareholders will take place from January 10 to January 26, 2024," Naumova said on Telegram.
This is another example of a Russian company choosing re-domiciliation to Kazakhstan. Earlier, silver producer and gold miner Polymetal, as well as retailer Fix Price, also re-domiciled to Kazakhstan.
The first Dodo Pizza outlet opened in Syktyvkar in 2011. The company's growth has been driven predominantly by franchising, extending its operations to nearly 15 countries globally, including Russia and the CIS.
