Gazprom continues setting new daily records of gas supplies to China via Power of Siberia pipeline on Fri

MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax) - Supplies of Russian gas to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline have once again reached another all-time high, Russia's Gazprom said on Saturday.

Gazprom set a new historic record of daily gas supplies to China on Friday, December 12, the Russian company said. Supplies of Russian gas via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline once again exceeded the daily contractual requirements.

Previous records were set on January 2 and 3 immediately after daily supplies of pipeline gas to China had reached a new level envisages by the contract for 2024.

Supplies of gas via the Power of Siberia are ongoing as part of the long-term bilateral sales contract signed by Gazprom and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

As reported, the 2024 contract envisages supplies of 30 billion cubic meters, up from 22 bcm in 2023. The Power of Siberia pipeline will reach its full export capacity of 38 bcm of gas a year in 2025.

Supplies of Russian gas to China began from the Chayanda field in Yakutia in 2019. The Kovykta field in the Irkutsk region was connected to the pipeline in December last year.
