Record number of Russian tourists visit Cuba in 2023

MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - Almost 185,000 Russian tourists visited Cuba in 2023, which is 3.4 times more than the year before, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) said, citing the Cuban Tourism Ministry.

"A total of 184,819 Russian citizens visited Cuba in 2023, which is 3.4 times more than in 2022. According to the Cuban Tourism Ministry, Russian tourist arrivals in Cuba hit a record last year, having surpassed the previous all-time high of 178,000 tourists in the pre-pandemic year 2019," ATOR said.

Russia was one of the top three countries in terms of the largest number of tourists visiting Cuba in 2023.

Tour operators say that the demand for tours to Cuba remains high in 2024.
