Russian airlines increase passenger traffic 10% to 105 mln people in 2023

MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - Russian airlines increased passenger traffic 10% in 2023 compared to the previous year to 105 million people, Russian Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev said.

"Based on operational data, Russian airlines carried 105 million passengers in 2023, which is 2 million passengers more than planned. Compared to 2022, traffic growth was over 10%," Savelyev told reporters.

The comprehensive program for the development of the aviation industry through 2030 had total passenger traffic in 2023 forecast at 103 million people (+8% YoY). In 2022, amid anti-Russian sanctions that affected aviation, passenger traffic was 14% lower at 95.2 million people.
