Russian Defense Ministry: Russian forces facilitate safe rotation of IAEA monitoring mission at Zaporozhye NPP

MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax) - Russian forces have facilitated a safe rotation of the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) monitoring mission at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

"Russian troops strictly observed a ceasefire declared from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the route of the monitors' passage starting from the destroyed bridge near the village of Kamenskoye," the ministry said.

While examining the road used for the passage, Russian troops discovered unexploded Ukrainian munitions, it said.

"Despite the presence of non-defused explosive devices, the Russian troops facilitated the safe passage of the mission's monitors and their arrival at the plant," it said.
