MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax) - Cryo-LNG LLC, a new resident of the Kashira special economic zone plans to set up production of tank containers for transporting and storing liquefied natural gas (LNG), the Moscow Region's Investment, Industry and Science Ministry reported.

"Investment in the project will total 3 billion rubles. The investor will build a production building with a total area of at least 10,000 square meters. The enterprise will create about 100 jobs," the press release said.

LNG producers in Russia currently import the tanks they need to store and transport LNG.

The plant is scheduled to start operations in 2025, the ministry told Interfax.

Cryo-LNG was founded in September 2023 by Vladimir Astafyev, who also owns Moscow company Energo Remont LLC.

Kashira's website said that one of the zone's other residents is Novatek-LNG Fuel Kashira, a subsidiary of Russian gas producer Novatek that is working on a project to build a plant to produce grade B LNG that meets standards for use as fuel in internal combustion engines. The plant is expected to have capacity to produce 1.7 tonnes per hour.
