Ukrainian, Romanian presidents discuss enlargement of Ukrainian exports through border checkpoints

MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis discussed the possibility of further expansion of the capacity of border checkpoints to boost Ukrainian exports in a phone call on Tuesday.

"The monthly Ukrainian exports via Romania have grown from 2 million tonnes to 3 million tonnes, and we have discussed ways to enlarge the capacity of border checkpoints to reach the 4-million-tonne target," Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky as saying on a social network.

Zelensky thanked Romania for supporting the decision to begin negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union and being ready to share its positive experience of European integration.
