Zangezur corridor is condition for Azerbaijan to open border with Armenia - Aliyev
BAKU. Jan 10 (Interfax) - The opening of the Zangezur corridor is a condition for opening the border with Armenia, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
"People and cargo from Azerbaijan to Azerbaijan [through Armenia to Nakhchivan] should travel without any inspections," Aliyev said in an interview with Azerbaijani TV channels on Wednesday. "Otherwise Armenia will forever remain a dead end," he said.
"If the route I have mentioned [the Zangezur corridor] is not opened, then we don't intend to open the border with Armenia in any other area," he said.
"Thus, it will do them more harm than good [if the Zangezur corridor is not opened]," Aliyev said.
