Erdogan tells Zelensky Turkey willing to act as mediator in Ukraine settlement

MOSCOW. Jan 10 (Interfax) - Ankara is willing to act as a mediator in negotiating peace in Ukraine, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a phone call with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

"The call addressed regional and global issues," Ukrainian media quoted the Turkish presidential office as saying in a statement on its official social account.

"President Erdogan highlighted Turkey's intensive efforts for [...] the establishment of lasting peace both in Ukraine and Palestinian lands. President Erdogan stated that Turkey stands ready to assume a facilitating role and host the peace talks for the restoration of peace in Ukraine," it said.
