Putin paying first visit to Chukotka
ANADYR. Jan 10 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is visiting Anadyr, the administrative center of the Chukotka Autonomous Region, on Wednesday.
This is the first working trip of Putin to Chukotka over the years of his presidency.
Putin is due to meet with local residents and visit a greenhouse built over permafrost by innovative technology.
The temperature of minus 30 degrees Celsius is quite moderate for January in the capital of Chukotka known for its extreme climate.
