Ukraine's soybean grist exports in Dec highest in past 4 years - analysts
MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax) - Ukraine exported 88,000 tonnes of soybean grist in December of the 2023-2024 marketing year, which is 26% more than it did in November and has been the highest monthly amount since February 2020, Ukrainian media reported referring to the APK-Inform agribusiness news and analytical agency.
"Since the beginning of the current season, more than 90% of all of this product's exports have been shipped via land borders, and the blockade of several checkpoints on the Polish and Slovak borders in December did not pose an obstacle to increasing grist shipments to Poland as the principal market," it said.
Poland was the principal importer of Ukrainian soybean grist in December 2023 by buying 46,000 tonnes of it, 11% more than in November, accounting for 53% of all Ukrainian exports of this product, APK Inform said.
