Polish Border Guard: Over 26,000 attempts to illegally cross Belarusian-Polish border recorded in 2023

MINSK. Jan 9 (Interfax) - There were over 26,000 attempts to illegally cross into Poland from Belarus in 2023, the Polish Border Guard said on social media on Tuesday.

"More than 26,000 attempts to illegally cross the border with Belarus were recorded in 2023," the Border Guard said.

"Nearly 700 people who organized or facilitated illegal border crossings were detained" last year, and "240 of them are now under arrest," it said.
