Ukrainian State Statistics Service improves 2022 GDP decline estimate to 28.8%

MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian State Statistics Service has improved its real gross domestic product decline estimate in 2022 to 28.8% from 29.1%.

The nominal GDP estimate has been improved from UAH 5,191 trillion to UAH 5,239 trillion, Ukrainian media reported citing the service's website.

The deflator index, in accordance with the updated estimate, amounted to 134.9%.

As reported, Ukraine's GDP in the pre-crisis year of 2021 rose 3.4%, and totaled UAH 5,451 trillion in nominal terms.

In 2023, the government and the National Bank expect the GDP to grow by around 5%, while the nominal GDP is expected to reach up to UAH 6.47 trillion to UAH 6.63 trillion.
