Ukrainian Energy Ministry: 2 thermal power plant units stopped for emergency repairs, 6 on standby

MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Two thermal power plant units in different parts of Ukraine have been stopped for emergency repairs over the past 24 hours, while another unit has been put on standby following emergency repairs, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Energy Ministry's statement on its social account on Thursday.

As of 10:00 a.m. Thursday, six thermal power plant units were on standby and could be connected to the grid if necessary, it said.

No scheduled outages have been applied or planned, it said.

As reported earlier with reference to the national power grid operator Ukrenergo, Poland absorbed 600 MW/h of surplus electricity from the Ukrainian energy system as emergency assistance on Wednesday. Ukraine also limited renewable power generation for some time.
