MOEX beginning calculation of diamond indexes

MOSCOW. Dec 27 (Interfax) - The Moscow Exchange will begin calculating new indicators - composite polished diamond set indices and investment diamond indices - starting on December 27, the trading floor said in a statement.

The indicators are calculated based on data on the total value of groups of polished diamonds.

To calculate polished diamond set indices, data on the cost of polished diamonds weighing from 0.30 to 1.99 carats inclusive, color from D to O, quality from IF to I3, and round and fancy cuts will be used.

To calculate investment diamond indices, data on the value of polished diamonds weighing from 2 to 9.99 carats inclusive, color from D to H, quality from VVS1 to VS2, and round and fancy cut will be used.

The data for calculation will come from the leading players in the Russian polished diamond market.
