Over 200 communities in Ukraine cut off from power supply, including 72 due to weather - Energy Ministry

MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax) - Adverse weather has caused power cuts to 72 populated areas in four regions of Ukraine as of Monday morning, while no scheduled outages have been applied, Ukrainian media have reported with reference to the Energy Ministry's statement on its social account.

In particular, 21 communities have no electricity in the Zakarpattia region and 11 in the Kiev-controlled part of the Donetsk region. The falling of power transmission towers due to extreme weather has also left five communities without electricity in the Kharkov region, and another 3,000 households have been cut off from power in the Kiev region.

Apart from that, other causes have left 144 communities without electricity in the Sumy and Chernigov regions and in the Kiev-controlled parts of the Donetsk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson regions.
