European Commission to send 500 more power generators to Ukraine

MOSCOW. Dec 22 (Interfax) - The European Commission has announced the sending of a further 500 power generators to Ukraine.

"We are sending an additional 500 power generators to Ukraine, bringing the total to over 5,500, to ensure a sufficient energy supply and to keep vital services running," Ukrainian media quoted the European Commission as saying on its social account.

The financial value of the 500 generators being sent to Ukraine is 16.5 million euros, and they will be transferred to various Ukrainian ministries.

The goal is to ensure sufficient power supply during cold and dark months, as well as keep vital services, like hospitals, up and running, the European Commission said on its website. In particular, 40 of the 500 generators are designated for schools, it said.
