GEH building 330 MW TPP in Yakutia, first stage to be commissioned in late 2026

MURMANSK. Dec 22 (Interfax) - Gazprom Energoholding (GEH) is building the 330 MW Chulman thermal power plant TPP in Yakutia, GEH CEO Denis Fedorov told reporters at the commissioning ceremony after the modernization of the Verkhne-Tulomskaya HPP in the Murmansk region.

"The project is already underway. The timeline - we will commission the first gas turbines in Q4 2026, with further completion to the combined cycle. Therefore, we are looking at late 2026 - early 2027. We are implementing project financing together with Gazprombank," he said.

Fedorov reminded that the company will install Chinese turbines. Steam-power equipment will be supplied by Russian suppliers, with contracts already signed. In particular, the steam turbine will be produced by Ural Turbine Works.

It was reported that Gazprom plans to build the Chulman TPP in Yakutia to supply power to the facilities of the Eastern Polygon of Russian Railways. Back in May, the facility was approved by the government commission for development of the electric power Industry.
