Belarus signs agreement on securities prospectuses

MINSK. Dec 22 (Interfax) - Belarus and Russia have entered into an agreement on the mutual recognition of securities prospectuses.

Following a meeting on December 22 of the High-Level Group of Union State Council of Ministers, the document was signed by the Ambassador of Belarus to Russia in his status as Deputy Prime Minister, Dmitry Krutoi and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, BelTA reported.

"This is a very important document, and it was born out of the framework of our union program to unify the financial markets of the two countries. I hope that it will serve as a very good step towards the creation of a common securities market for the Union State," Krutoi said after signing the document.

With the help of this tool, the parties will be able to increase the volume of mutual investments and expand interaction in the stock market, he said.

The subject of the agreement is to ensure the recognition of prospectuses of securities registered by one party to the agreement for the purpose of placement and (or) circulation of these securities in the territory of the other party.
