Ural Airlines completes insurance settlement with AerCap on 19 Airbus planes
YEKATERINBURG. Dec 22 (Interfax) - Ural Airlines has completed an insurance settlement on 19 Airbus airliners with leasing company AerCap, the Russian carrier told Interfax.
"Under the agreements reached, the lessors dropped their claims against the Russian parties, both on insurance policies issued by Russian insurance companies, and on lease contracts that Ural Airlines signed with the AerCap group and legal entities managed by AerCap group," the airline said.
Earlier, Ural Airlines CEO Sergei Skuratov told reporters that the company was ready to buy 19 of its 52 Airbuses. "The United States allowed us to buy 19 aircraft, as did the European Union," he said. For these purposes, Russia's credit resources will be used for many years.
Ural Airlines is based in Moscow's Domodedovo and Yekaterinburg's Koltsovo airports. The airline's fleet consists of Airbus aircraft.
