Russian Deputy PM: multi-children family in Russia means 3 or more children

MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax) - The criterion for a family with many children in Russia is three or more, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said.

"I want to say that further to your instructions, we have discussed and come to the unequivocal conclusion that the criterion for a family with many children in Russia is [one with] three or more children. And now, in line with your instructions, we are about to finish working on measures to support multi-children families, and a report about this will be presented promptly," Golikova said on Thursday when speaking at a meeting of the Council on Strategic Development and National Projects attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin earlier ordered that a unified federal status be set out for all multi-children families and that a nationwide single list of benefits for such families be produced.

In mid-June 2023, the Russian Labor Ministry submitted a proposal on assigning the 'multiple-children' status to families with three or more minors for consideration by the Russian government.
