Novak: extraordinary OPEC+ meetings for discussion of market situation possible, but no need yet for net production decisions

MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - A new OPEC+ meeting is possible in the near future to discuss the situation in the market, but so far there is no need for new decisions, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

"All necessary decisions were made [in early December]," he said.

"Now the date of the meeting could be determined in the near future, we will meet, look at the situation on the market," Novak said.

Commenting on whether there is talk of an extraordinary meeting [the next one is scheduled for June 2024], the Russian deputy prime minister remarked: "We will see, depending on the need."

"Now the price is going up a bit, the situation is more or less balanced, we cannot say that it is yet necessary to make any decisions, we're always keeping an eye on the situation," he said.
