Ukrainian merchandise trade deficit triples to $22.4 bln in 10M
MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Ukraine's merchandise trade deficit widened three-fold to $22.363 billion in January-October 2023 from $7.198 billion in the same period of last year, Ukrainian media quoted the State Statistics Service as saying.
Exports fell 19% year-on-year to $29.827 billion, while imports rose 18.8% to $52.19 billion.
Seasonally adjusted exports fell 4.8% to $2.475 billion in October compared with September and imports fell 1.6% to $5.251 billion.
The seasonally adjusted trade deficit narrowed slightly to $2.776 billion in October from $2.012 billion the previous month.
The foreign trade coverage ratio fell to 0.57 in 10M 2023, from 0.84 a year previously.
Ukraine traded with 228 countries.
