China views energy cooperation with Russia as important element of comprehensive strategic partnership - Chinese vice-premier

BEIJING. Dec 18 (Interfax) - China is ready to deepen energy cooperation with Russia to promote the development of the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, Chinese State Council Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang said.

The Russian-Chinese Energy Cooperation Commission has met in Beijing. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak represented Russia at the meeting.

Ding proposed deepening cooperation by intensifying energy trade, promoting the construction and stable operation of oil and gas projects, and implementing nuclear energy projects.

He also called for actively expanding new areas of energy cooperation and deepening cooperation in renewable energy and hydrogen energy.

China and Russia "should strengthen global energy management, make a major contribution to the long-term, sound, stable and sustainable development of the global energy market, and promote a global partnership in the field of clean energy, " Ding said
