Number of presidential candidates in Azerbaijani election reaches 6

BAKU. Dec 18 (Interfax) - The number of presidential candidates in Azerbaijan has increased to six after Azerbaijani parliamentarians Gudrat Gasanguliyev and Razi Nurullayev decided to run for president in the early election scheduled for February 7, 2024.

Gasanguliyev and Nurullayev were nominated by the parties they lead - the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party and the National Front Party, respectively. The parties announced their leaders' nomination for president on Monday.

Azerbaijan's incumbent President Ilham Aliyev, parliamentarians Zahid Oruj and Fazil Mustafa, and Elshad Musayev, chairman of the Great Azerbaijan Party, previously said they would run in the early presidential election.
