Number of cars crossing Ukrainian-Polish border returns to pre-blockade figures - Ukrainian govt

KIEV. Dec 15 (Interfax) - The number of automobiles crossing the border between Ukraine and Poland in the Yagodin-Dorohusk checkpoint has returned to the levels recorded before the beginning of the blockade, Ukrainian State Border Service spokesperson Andrei Demchenko said.

"Cargo traffic is growing gradually, every day. A total of 1,200 trucks crossed the border in both directions yesterday [December 14], and the majority of them towards Ukraine. And these are essentially almost the same figures seen before the blockade, which started on November 6," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Demchenko as saying on a nationwide telethon on Friday.

As reported, Dorohusk municipality head Wojciech Sawa denied Polish carriers permission to continue blocking the Yagodin-Dorohusk checkpoint. Carriers are planning to challenge his decision at court.
