Baku approves regulation governing work of Azerbaijani, Armenian border delimitation commissions

BAKU. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov on Thursday approved a regulation on the organization of joint sessions and working meetings between the Azerbaijani State Commission on Delimitation of the Border with Armenia and the Armenian Commission on Delimitation and Security of the Border with Azerbaijan.

The dates, venues and time of sessions and working meetings of the commissions are determined with the approval of the two chairs of the commissions, the Cabinet of Ministers told Interfax.

According to the regulation, Azerbaijan and Armenia take turns at hosting sessions and meetings of the commissions, or they are held at the borders of the two states, or on the territories of third states, or by videoconference.

Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan met at the joint border on November 30 and agreed to intensify meetings between the commissions on delimitation issues.

Earlier on Thursday, the Armenian government approved the working procedures governing the organization of sessions and meetings of the Armenian and Azerbaijani commissions on border delimitation. A procedure governing work on the content of the document will be drafted at the next stage.
