Ukraine receives latest tranche of $900 mln from IMF - PM
MOSCOW. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Funds of International Monetary Fund (IMF) totaling about $900 million have arrived on Ukraine's accounts, Ukrainian media reported citing the Prime Minister Denis Shmygal as saying on Thursday.
"About $900 million from the IMF has arrived on Ukraine's accounts. These funds will be used to finance priority budget expenditures," Shmygal said via the social network X (formerly Twitter).
As previously reported, the IMF Board of Directors on December 11 completed the second review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program for Ukraine and approved the allocation of the third tranche of financing for Kiev in the amount of SDR 664 million.
The four-year $15.6 billion EFF program was approved in March this year, with the first tranche of $2.7 billion allocated to Kiev in early April and the second tranche of $890 million in early July. Three more tranches are due in 2024: $2.2 billion in mid-June, followed by $1.1 billion each in early September and December.
