Claims of Pashinyan's pending resignation, early elections false - Armenian govt

YEREVAN. Dec 14 (Interfax) - The Armenian government has denied rumors of the pending resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and early parliamentary elections.

"Some opposition members and media outlets have been trying to spread false information about early elections for a long time. The rumors of the prime minister's resignation and early parliamentary elections are completely false. There are no such discussions," deputy head of the Armenian prime minister's office Taron Chakhoyan said on a social network.

False rumors of the early elections "are yet another unsuccessful attempt of the opposition to play on the public sentiment before accusing the government of not holding early elections and trying to instigate a new street movement," he said.
