Kremlin counts on Argentina's participation in BRICS at level it deems appropriate

MOSCOW. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Russia expects Argentina to continue participating in BRICS and will welcome the development of good relations with this country, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"As for the development of relations with Argentina, we are also interested in it. We also hope that Argentina will continue participating in BRICS at a level it finds appropriate, and we will welcome that. And we will certainly welcome the development of good relations with the new leadership in Buenos Aires," Peskov said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television channel.

Russia is also interested in advancing bilateral relations with Egypt, which are of a historical nature, Peskov said.

"Relations between [Russian President] Vladimir Putin and [Egyptian President] Abdel Fattah el-Sisi are friendly relations, partners' relations, and they are truly mutually beneficial," he said.
