Moldova to move to new partnership program with NATO from 2025

CHISINAU. Dec 13 (Interfax) - The government of Moldova has extended the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) with NATO to 2024, and Moldova will move to the Individually Tailored Partnership Program (ITPP) with NATO from 2025.

The resolution was adopted at a meeting of the Moldovan government on Wednesday, the government press service told Interfax.

"NATO has started the process of reforming partner relations, introducing the One Partner - One Plan concept. This envisages bringing NATO's programs and cooperation instruments with every partner state into a unified structure by developing new individually tailored partnership programs," an explanatory note says.

The new partnership program will be approved in early 2025 and will last for four years. This is envisaged by the new NATO approach to cooperation with partners from third countries that are not NATO members, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry said.

The purpose of the reform is to boost the effectiveness of the partnership with NATO and to eliminate overlap between different cooperation programs.

Moldova has worked with NATO under the IPAP since 2006.
